Read about this class:

In a deeply insightful and spiritually enriching class led by Bishop Benjamin, the focus was on the importance of commitment in unlocking God’s harvest in our lives. Drawing from the book of Hosea and other scriptures, Bishop Benjamin emphasized that commitment to God and His principles is the key to experiencing His blessings, even in a world filled with distractions and challenges. The session was filled with practical wisdom, biblical truths, and a call to deepen our dedication to God’s covenant.

The Principle of Harvest and Commitment

Bishop Benjamin began by highlighting a universal truth: everyone wants a harvest. Whether it’s a good person or someone with ill intentions, the principles of sowing and reaping apply to all. “God is not a respecter of persons,” he explained. “He’s a respecter of principles. That’s why even those who do evil sometimes seem to reap a harvest. The key difference is commitment.”

He stressed that commitment to God is what sets believers apart. It’s not about family lineage or past achievements but about a daily, intentional walk with God. “Your harvest is within reach,” Bishop Benjamin declared. “But it requires a new level of commitment.”

God Desires Mercy, Not Sacrifice

Bishop Benjamin turned to Hosea 6:6, where God says, “I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” He explained that the Hebrew word for mercy, hesed, refers to God’s loving-kindness and covenant faithfulness. This mercy was ultimately fulfilled through the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who brought God’s love and redemption to humanity.

“God’s mercy is about relationship, not rituals,” Bishop Benjamin said. “He wants us to know Him intimately, not just go through the motions of religion. When we truly know God, our commitment to Him deepens, and our lives reflect His love and kindness.”

The Danger of Ignoring God

Using the example of Israel in the book of Hosea, Bishop Benjamin warned against the dangers of ignoring God. Despite God’s miraculous deliverance and provision, Israel often turned to idolatry and broke their covenant with Him. “Their bodies were with God, but their minds were elsewhere,” he explained. “They ignored the One who had done so much for them.”

He compared this to modern-day believers who may attend church or perform religious duties but lack a genuine commitment to God. “Ignorance doesn’t mean stupidity,” he said. “It means ignoring what we know to be true. When we ignore God, we lose our covering and open ourselves up to spiritual attacks.”

The Battle for the Mind

Bishop Benjamin emphasized that the mind is the battlefield in spiritual warfare. He referenced Joyce Meyer’s book, The Battlefield of the Mind, and explained that the enemy uses psychological tactics to deceive and distract believers. “We’re in a non-kinetic war,” he said. “The enemy isn’t using guns or bullets; he’s using lies, fear, and manipulation to attack our minds.”

He encouraged the GoCare community to stay committed to God’s truth and not allow the enemy’s tactics to derail their faith. “Your harvest is at stake,” he said. “Don’t let the enemy steal it through doubt, fear, or distraction.”

The Importance of Watering Your Faith

Drawing from Ephesians 5:25-26 and John 7:37-38, Bishop Benjamin highlighted the importance of staying spiritually nourished. “Just as a plant needs water to grow, we need the living water of God’s Word to thrive,” he said. “If we don’t feed ourselves with Scripture and prayer, we’ll dry up and become ineffective.”

He warned against the dangers of becoming complacent or relying on external religious activities without cultivating a personal relationship with God. “Many pastors and leaders fall because they focus on fame, wealth, or success instead of staying rooted in God’s Word,” he said. “We must consume the Word ourselves and let it flow out of us as rivers of living water.”

A Call to Renewed Commitment

Bishop Benjamin concluded with a powerful call to renewed commitment. He urged the GoCare community to upgrade their levels of dedication to God, their families, and their missions. “Your commitment means everything to God,” he said. “Whether it’s in your home, your career, or your ministry, don’t let apathy or distractions steal your harvest.”

He reminded everyone that God’s covenant is unshakable, but we must actively participate in it. “Stay committed to life, liberty, and justice,” he declared. “Don’t let the non-committal attitudes of the world rub off on you. Shake off anything that hinders your commitment to God.”

Final Thoughts

Bishop Benjamin’s class was a powerful reminder that commitment is the key to unlocking God’s harvest in our lives. Through a deep, intentional relationship with God, we can overcome the enemy’s tactics, stay spiritually nourished, and experience the fullness of His blessings. As we renew our commitment to God and His principles, we position ourselves to reap a harvest of joy, provision, and victory. Let us stay steadfast, rooted in God’s Word, and committed to His covenant, knowing that our harvest is within reach.
