Finding God in Every Season

October 7, 2026

Life doesn't always unfold the way we expect. There are seasons of uncertainty, waiting, and discomfort when it can be difficult to see what God is doing. Yet Scripture reminds us that God's presence is not limited to moments of comfort or stability.

In this Faith Class, Bishop Leon Benjamin begins a new teaching series called The Ingathering, drawing from Leviticus 23 and the Feast of Tabernacles to explore how God calls His people to gather, celebrate, and remain faithful even in the wilderness.

The Meaning of the Ingathering

Throughout Scripture, gathering is a powerful expression of God's relationship with His people.

Bishop Benjamin introduces the idea of the Ingathering as a time of unity, restoration, and renewed attention to God's presence. He encourages believers to recognize the importance of coming together in faith rather than allowing difficult circumstances to create division or isolation.

Celebrating in the Wilderness

In Leviticus 23:33–43, God instructs the Israelites to observe the Feast of Tabernacles, a celebration remembering their journey through the wilderness.

Bishop Benjamin highlights an important lesson: God called His people to rejoice even while remembering a season of uncertainty and temporary shelter.

Their circumstances were not permanent, but God's faithfulness remained.

Your Tent Is Not Your Destination

The temporary shelters used during the Feast of Tabernacles become a central illustration in this lesson.

Bishop Benjamin compares these tents to the temporary challenges we experience in our own lives, whether financial difficulties, strained relationships, or seasons of waiting.

Rather than allowing those circumstances to define us, he encourages believers to create room for God to meet them where they are.

Learning to Rest in God's Presence

The class also explores the meaning of Sabbath rest and the difference between working from a place of bondage and serving God with a renewed mindset.

Bishop Benjamin encourages believers to release the burdens that consume their thoughts and approach everyday responsibilities with greater peace, purpose, and trust in the Lord.

Rest, in this teaching, is not simply about stopping work. It is about remembering whom we serve.

A Season of New Beginnings

As Bishop Benjamin reflects on the eighth day of the Feast of Tabernacles, he introduces its spiritual symbolism as a new beginning.

Connecting Old Testament traditions with the Christian understanding of Jesus Christ and the resurrection, he encourages believers to look beyond present circumstances with hope for what lies ahead.

The Importance of Coming Together

During the class discussion, participants share reflections on family, reconciliation, and the importance of gathering with loved ones.

These conversations reinforce the message that faith is not meant to be lived in isolation. Fellowship, shared traditions, prayer, and encouragement help strengthen believers through challenging seasons.

God Is Our True Covering

The lesson returns to a simple but meaningful truth: the temporary shelter was never the ultimate source of protection. God was.

Drawing on John 1:14 and the image of God dwelling among His people, Bishop Benjamin reminds believers to place their trust in God's presence rather than the stability of their circumstances.

Whatever season you are walking through, this Faith Class invites you to keep your joy, gather in faith, and make room for God to meet you right where you are.
